Function and Purpose

• Limiting Needle Movement: The needle stop plate of a ribbon weaving machine is mainly used to limit the movement range of knitting needles. It ensures that the knitting needles move up and down within the specified track. For example, during the high-speed weaving process, it can accurately control the knitting needles to avoid their excessive displacement or deviation, thus guaranteeing the accuracy and stability of the weaving action.
• Protecting Needles and Yarns: It forms a protective barrier between the knitting needles and other components, preventing the needles from being damaged by friction or collision with adjacent parts. Meanwhile, it also avoids the yarn from being scratched or hooked by other components during the weaving process. This helps to reduce yarn breakage and weaving defects, thereby improving the yield of ribbons.
• Assisting Weaving Operations: The needle stop plate can assist the knitting needles to complete some specific weaving actions. For instance, when forming some special weaving patterns or structures, it can make the knitting needles weave in a specific sequence and manner through the limitation and guidance of the needle movement. Therefore, it helps to achieve diversified weaving effects.

Structure and Types

• Structure: Generally, the needle stop plate is a sheet-like structure with a certain shape and thickness, usually made of metal or engineering plastics. It has a flat main body for cooperating with the knitting needles and other components of the machine. There are specific holes or grooves on the main body, whose size and shape match those of the knitting needles, allowing the needles to pass through and move within. At the edge or specific position of the needle stop plate, there may be some protrusions or depressions for positioning and fixing with other components of the machine, ensuring the stable position of the needle stop plate during the machine operation.
• Types: According to the different types of ribbon weaving machines and the requirements of weaving processes, there are various types of needle stop plates. In terms of shape, there are rectangular, circular and special-shaped needle stop plates. Rectangular ones are suitable for some conventional weaving processes, with a simple structure and convenient installation and adjustment. Circular needle stop plates are often used in weaving machines where the knitting needles need to move in a circular motion, as they can better adapt to the movement track of the needles. Special-shaped needle stop plates are designed according to special weaving needs, such as having special curves or angles to meet the weaving of specific patterns or structures. From the perspective of function, there are ordinary needle stop plates and multi-functional ones. Ordinary ones mainly realize the basic functions of needle stopping and positioning, while multi-functional ones may also integrate other functions, such as having a yarn guiding function or being able to control the movement of knitting needles more precisely.
